Ruben loves to take a bath everyday. Even more we love to watch him having fun.

Ruben mag es jeden Tag ein Bad zu nehmen. Mehr noch geniessen wir es, zu sehen wie er dabei Spass hat.

June in Europe

Gerade war June, Amanda's Mum, bei uns zu Besuch und wir haben festgestellt das unsere gemeinsame Ueberseereise ins ferne Europa immer naeher kommt.
Mit spitzem Bleistift, Papier, Landkarte und ein bisschen Lonley Planet haben wir begonnen gemeinsame Interessen, Routen und Zeiten zu bestimmen.
So haben wir beschlossen von Norden nach Sueden ueber Cologne, Koblenz, Heilbronn nach Pfullendorf am Bodensee zu reisen. Von dort geht es dann weiter in die Schweiz nach Basel und fuer einen Sprint ueber die Alpen nach Bern und zureuck.
Die Zeit wird wie immer zu kurz sein um alles und alle zu sehen, dennoch freuen wir uns auf einen heissen Sommer in Deutschland und natuerlich auf euch.

I can't get Ruben to smile on camera (the rest of the time I can't get him to *stop* smiling!) but at least this video shows how his fine motor skills are developing. Here he is playing with his favourite toy - a giraffe driving a strawberry car (?!) - it's an Ikea toy, probably available the world over.

Ruben is getting bigger

He's now over 5 kg in weight and 66 cm long.
Er ist jetzt schon ueber 5 kg schwer und 66 cm lang.

Sara the attack cat

Jan thinks there are too many photos of Ruben on this blog at the moment - which is funny because he put them all here! (It might say "posted by Amanda" but it's usually Jan logging in under my name).

So to break up the Ruben barrage a bit, here's Sara. We have a plaque at the front of our house, left by the previous owners, which warns visitors of the "attack cat". I'm trying to train Sara to live up to this reputation.
